Georgia School Boards Appreciation Week

The week of March 10-14, 2025, is School Boards Appreciation Week in Georgia. The weeklong observance calls attention to the contributions of local boards of education. The Columbia County School District (CCSD) joins the statewide celebration in honor and recognition of the members of the Columbia County Board of Education.

Annual Student Art Show

Student artwork from grades K-12, will be on display at the Columbia County, Grovetown and Harlem branch libraries throughout the month of March as part of the annual Columbia County School District Student Art Show. An opening reception will take place at each location on March 4, 2025, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Click here for a list of school art displays by location.

Lakeside High School STAR Student & Teacher Win Region

The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program honors Georgia’s highest-achieving high school seniors and the teachers most instrumental in their academic development. Lakeside High School senior Jerry Fan was named the Region 7 STAR student, along with his selected teacher Dr. John Cato, and will advance to the state competition. Registration for Pre-K Drawing Opens February 24, 2025

The Columbia County School District’s Pre-K program is sponsored by the State of Georgia’s Lottery Funds. Children must reside in the zone of an elementary school that offers a Pre-K program to participate in the lottery drawing or the Pre-K program.
