The week of March 10-14, 2025, is School Boards Appreciation Week in Georgia. The weeklong observance calls attention to the contributions of local boards of education. The Columbia County School District (CCSD) joins the statewide celebration in honor and recognition of the members of the Columbia County Board of Education.

The Columbia County Board of Education will meet in Regular Session on March 11, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at the Columbia County Board of Education, located at 4781 Hereford Farm Rd., Evans, GA.

Student artwork from grades K-12, will be on display at the Columbia County, Grovetown and Harlem branch libraries throughout the month of March as part of the annual Columbia County School District Student Art Show. An opening reception will take place at each location on March 4, 2025, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Click here for a list of school art displays by location.

Congratulations, to Ms. Tabitha Purvis from Euchee Creek Elementary School for being named the 2025 CCSD Teacher of the Year. Read more about the annual Teacher of the Year celebration and view photos and videos from the event.

The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program honors Georgia’s highest-achieving high school seniors and the teachers most instrumental in their academic development. Lakeside High School senior Jerry Fan was named the Region 7 STAR student, along with his selected teacher Dr. John Cato, and will advance to the state competition. Sgt. Burnett was selected for his proven dedication to students and staff through enriching school safety and security, engaging in positive relationships with students and staff, and demonstrating excellence as a leader in his department. The Columbia County School District (CCSD) continues to see success with more than 93% of high school students from the Class of 2024 earning their high school diplomas which is a 1.3% increase from 2023.

Congratulations, to all of our outstanding student-athletes who competed at this year's Special Olympics Games State Bowling Competition. One student was also recognized as the Special Olympics of Georgia Athlete of the Month for March. See photos of all of our winners, here! Great job, students!

The Columbia County School District’s Pre-K program is sponsored by the State of Georgia’s Lottery Funds. Children must reside in the zone of an elementary school that offers a Pre-K program to participate in the lottery drawing or the Pre-K program.
